Topic: Health and Wellbeing, International, Legislation
Author: SOS Children's Villages International
To mark the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children, SOS Children's Villages International has published 'You Have the Right to Care and Protection!', a child friendly version of the guide.
The guide was developed with the participation of over 500 children from 26 different countries and uses accessible language and visuals to inform children and young people about their right to live in a supportive family environment. It explains what needs to happen in case they cannot live with their parents or are at risk of being separated from them.
The guide is available in three languages: English, French and Spanish.
