Powering up the potential of care experienced young people: the role of education, work and adult expectations
The CELCIS Annual Lecture Series invites prominent people to speak about the latest research and evidence, driving a debate about the big issues facing vulnerable children and families. This year, the focus was on the worlds of education and work, which offer rich opportunities for young people with care experience as they seek to build their lives and realise their hopes.
The CELCIS Annual Lecture 2019 was delivered by Robbie Gilligan, Professor of Social Work and Social Policy at Trinity College Dublin, and took place on Thursday 28 February at the University of Strathclyde. Robbie was joined by our panel - Rosie Moore, Independent Care Review; Joe Rankin, Nevis Group Scotland; Tracey Wright, University of Strathclyde - who offered reflections and observations on Robbie's presentation, as well as taking questions from the audience.
