New Chief Executive appointed to SSSC
The regulator of Scotland’s social service workforce has appointed a new Chief Executive.
Lorraine Gray permanently takes on the top role after a period as Interim Chief Executive, which followed the departure of Anna Fowlie to the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO).
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) have responsibility for the regulation of social service workers in Scotland, aiming to ensure a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.
The organisation:
- Publishes the national codes of practice for people working in social services and their employers
- Registers people working in social services and makes sure they adhere to the SSSC Codes of Practice
- Promotes and regulates the learning and development of the social service workforce

On the news of her appointment, Ms Gray said:
