You Have the Right to Care and Protection!
The Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children in Child and Youth Friendly Language
SOS Children's Villages International has published a child friendly version of the United Nations Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children to mark the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the guidelines.
The guide, titled 'You Have the Right to Care and Protection!', was developed with the participation of over 500 children from 26 different countries.
Using accessible language and visuals, it informs children and young people about their right to live in a supportive family environment and explains what needs to happen in case they cannot live with their parents or are at risk of being separated from them.
It is available in three languages: English, French and Spanish.
