A co-ordinated approach needed to tackle attainment gap

The Stage 1 report on the Education (Scotland) Bill is published and the Education and Culture Committee thanks all of those who contributed through oral evidence and written submissions. The report offers a number of suggestions on how the Bill can deliver real change including the need to report on efforts to reduce inequalities in a transparent, meaningful and effective way.

The report has asked for clarity on how the Bill will benefit looked after children and how it will succeed in narrowing the attainment gap for them.
