A CELCIS Emerging Insights Series: Reforming Children's Services
In 2023, a ground-breaking study, published by CELCIS, into the integration of public services to improve understanding of service delivery models and their effectiveness in meeting the needs of children and their families, outlined what it takes to make real, long-standing transformational change.
Public sector reform will always face a backdrop of continuing and ever-moving challenges in investment, capacity and competing policies and priorities.
With the incorporation of the UNCRC into Scots Law, The Promise of the Independent Care Review, and the Getting it Right for Every Child approach all in place, Scotland has the intention, ambition and will to improve support for children and their families and outcomes for all children and young people.
A year on from the publication of the Children’s Services Reform Research study’s Concluding Report, CELCIS has announced a new series of webinars to take a further look at what the study’s findings mean if Scotland is to achieve impactful, meaningful, change and how these themes have been developing. The first one will be in December 2024.
Reforming children’s services: the role of data in transformational change
Transformational change requires attention to resources, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. A key finding from the Children’s Services Reform Research was the need for transformational reform programmes to be underpinned by data and a theory of change. In creating and implementing change, why are these important? How can data play a key role in informing real transformation in children’s services?
Join us on Monday, 2 December for this free, online webinar where the study’s researchers Micky Anderson and Dr Alex McTier will take us through the findings from the study and explore these questions as we look together at how services and decision-makers are, and can, use and apply information to drive the improvements in outcomes for children and their families.
When: Monday, 2 December, 10.30am-12.00pm
Where: Online, Microsoft Teams
