About the Journal

The Scottish Journal of Residential Child Care is published in Scotland by CELCIS (the Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection), a research-led improvement and innovation centre, based in the Department of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde.

Established in 2002, our aim is to encourage scholarship about group and family care as a service to the care experienced community, practitioners, students and academics. We are proud of our Scottish roots, and our international outlook, and we welcome submissions about relevant child care research and practice from around the world.

The SJRCC is fully open access and is accessible to all with no paywall. It is listed by the Directory of Open Access Journals and Sherpa Romeo. Articles are archived on the CELCIS website and at the National Library of Scotland. They are disseminated via CELCIS e-bulletins, social media and made accessible to search facilities via the University of Strathclyde’s institutional repository, Strathprints.
