This short response to the Committee draws on the evidence and expertise developed for CELCIS’ comprehensive response to the Scottish Government’s consultation on a National Care Service in 2021.

This response is focussed on the key issues for children and young people and their families that should be considered as scrutiny of the Bill progresses, and concludes that it is unclear how the ambitious principles stated in the original consultation will be realised for children and young people.
