We have responded to the consultation on ‘A new Suicide Prevention Strategy for Scotland’. We welcome the attention to detail in the proposed Suicide Prevention Strategy, including the detail in the Action Plan, and the consideration of how the content in the proposed strategy and action plan will be delivered. We broadly agree with the vision, guiding principles, outcomes and details of the strategy and the content of the action plan. However, some of the strategy and action plan would benefit from further elaboration, including around how support will be available to the workforce who would have a role in implementing the proposed strategy, that enables them to implement the measures within it.
