Two new papers have been published as part of research from the Drawing Together project, a three-year project working with groups of young refugees in Scotland, Finland, Norway to examine how they draw and describe their networks and relationships.
Paper one, Family-like Relationships and Wellbeing of Young Refugees in Finland, Norway, and Scotland, was written by Marja Tiilikainen, Marte Knag Fylkesnes and Sharon A. McGregor. It explores the role of family-like relationships for the wellbeing of unaccompanied child refugees in Europe.
Paper two, Narratives of Symbolic Objects Exploring Relational Wellbeing of Young Refugees Living in Scotland, Finland, and Norway, was written by Masego Katisi, Milfrid Tonheim, Sharon A. McGregor and Fath E Mubeen. It looks at how meaningful objects can tell stories of young refugees’ past, present and future, and represent important people and relationships in their lives.
